Angus Nivison Letters Home
6 April - 4 May 2013
Angus Nivison lives and works at Walcha in the Northern Tablelands of NSW. In 2011, he spent three months at the Art Gallery of New South Wales studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. Over this time he created dozens of miniature pictures in acrylic and graphite on the last sheets of an old Nivison family letterhead. Nivison welcomed the chance to draw solidly for an extended period, capturing his immediate impressions of the Parisian landscape in winter. On his return, these drawings provided the basis for larger-scale work in the studio.
