Our final show of the year is not to be missed. Papunya Tula Artists Pty Ltd, founded in 1972, is celebrating its forty year anniversary this year. Utopia Art Sydney is proud to have represented this artist run company since 1988. In this group show, young and old, emerging and established artists hang side by side, showcasing the broad range of paintings produced by the Papunya Tula Artists community. Angus Nivison: A Survey opened at The University Gallery, The University of Newcastle on Saturday October 24. The exhibition will be in Newcastle until November 10.
The next stop of Tamworth Regional Gallery’s touring exhibition is the S H Ervin Gallery Sydney, from January 5 – February 10, 2013.

Yukultji Napangati Wins the 2012 Alice Prize

Congratulations to Yukultji Napangati who has been awarded the 37th Alice Prize, a national contemporary art award, judged this year by Nick Mitzevich, Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Paintings by Yukultji Napangati will be on display at the Utopia Art Sydney stand at the Melbourne Art Fair 2012 in August.

Christopher Hodges has just returned from Seattle, where he spoke as a panelist at a symposium in conjunction with Ancestral Modern at the Seattle Art Museum.
